About our Intermediate Kitesurfing Lesson

It is here that it all starts coming together, master the skill of body dragging, relaunching the kite from the water and learn self rescue to give you the confidence that if needed you can safely get back to the beach if things don’t go to plan.

Once you’re ready it’s time to try the board!

Here is the IKO Level 2 lesson structure that we aim to teach you in your intermediate course.

 

Level 2F

  • Downwind Drag
  • Enter and exit the water independently and safely while controlling the kite
  • Water re-launch the kite
  • Body drag downwind
  • Maintain correct kite position in the wind window
  • Change direction to the left and right while body dragging
  • Self-rescue and full pack-down in deep water

Level 2G

  • Upwind Drag
  • Upwind body drag to recover board
  • Upwind body drag holding the board with one hand
  • Enter and exit at the same point while upwind body dragging

Level 2H

  • Steady Pull
  • Know the power stroke for a water start
  • Know the safety rules and theory for water start
  • Can put the board on the feet and maintain the correct position for water start

Level 2I

  • Water Start
  • Water starts in both directions and ride a short distance
  • Come to a controlled stop
  • Understand weather forecast, tidal- and wind effects
  • Determine the wind strength, direction and quality
  • Know the right of way rules
  • Know equipment set up and choice according to the weather conditions

Booking and Cancellation Policies

To make a booking we require PAYMENT IN FULL to secure a Lesson Spot or Rental. Cancellations outside of 30 days will be refunded minus a 10% booking fee, cancellations within 30 days but outside 14 Days will receive a 50% refund or an option to rearrange to a future date, Cancellations within 14 days will receive NO REFUND.

Good Conditions Guarantee. We are Water Sports Addicts and understand how important the right conditions are to your learning progress. We guarantee that we will only run lessons in suitable conditions, don't be concerned about booking in advance, if we get close to your lesson and see an unfavorable forecast we will always try and rearrange to a more suitable day where your schedule allows. Should we not be able to rearrange your lesson within your schedule then we will offer a refund in full.
